Step 1: Create Your First Project

Projects help you organize your Welsh learning by topic, textbook, or course. To create your first project:

1. Click "Create New Project" on your dashboard
2. Give your project a name (e.g., "Welsh GCSE Vocabulary" or "Cwrs Mynediad Unit 1")
3. Add a description to help you remember what this project covers
4. Click "Create Project"

Step 2: Create Decks Within Your Project

Decks are collections of flashcards within a project. You might create separate decks for different chapters or topics:

1. From your project page, click "Create New Deck"
2. Name your deck (e.g., "Family Vocabulary" or "Teulu")
3. Add a description if helpful
4. Click "Create Deck"

Step 3: Add Flashcards

You can add flashcards in two ways:

Manual Creation

• Click "Create New Card" in your deck
• Enter the Welsh word on the front
• Enter the English translation on the back
• Add any notes if needed

AI-Powered Creation (Recommended)

• Take a photo of vocabulary tables from your Welsh textbook
• Upload the image using our AI card generation feature
• Review and edit the automatically created cards

PDF Textbook Upload

• Upload a PDF of your Welsh textbook from your project page
• Chapters are automatically discovered and listed
• Convert each chapter into a deck of flashcards with one click

Tips when uploading photos

• Take the photo with a smartphone
• You can then view the site from the same phone and easily access the file to upload
• Our site has been optimised to run on both desktop and mobile devices
• Reviewing the uploaded photos is best done with your phone rotated to landscape view

Step 4: Start Learning

Once you have some cards, you can start studying:

1. Click "Start Flashcard Test" from your deck or project
2. Choose how many cards you want to study
3. Work through the cards, rating how well you remembered each one
4. The system will use spaced repetition to show you cards at optimal intervals
