Image Quality
- Ensure good lighting when taking photos

Once the AI has processed your image:
- Review all cards - Check that Welsh words and English translations are correct
- Edit if needed - Fix any mistakes or add additional information
- Delete unwanted cards - Remove any cards that weren't extracted correctly
- Add notes - Include grammar information, pronunciation notes, or examples

How PDF Import Works
- Upload a PDF - From your project page, upload a PDF of your Welsh textbook
- Chapters are discovered - The system analyses the PDF and identifies individual chapters
- Review the chapter list - You'll see all discovered chapters with their topics on the project page
- Create decks per chapter - Click "Create Deck" on any chapter to start AI processing for that chapter
- AI extracts vocabulary - Each chapter is processed individually, extracting Welsh-English word pairs into flashcards
- Review and study - Check the generated cards, make any corrections, and start learning
Why Are Chapters Processed Individually?
Each chapter extraction uses AI to analyse the text and identify vocabulary, which takes time and uses part of your monthly allowance. Processing chapters one at a time lets you focus on the chapters that matter most to you right now, rather than using up your allowance on chapters you might not need yet. Your subscription includes a monthly allowance of chapter extractions — check your account for details.
Best Practices for PDF Upload
- Digitally-created PDFs work best (not scanned handwriting)
- Chapters are processed one at a time — you choose which ones to convert
- A progress bar on the project page tracks how many chapters you've converted
- If processing fails for a chapter, you can retry it at any time
Troubleshooting
No cards were generated
This usually means the AI couldn't detect clear vocabulary pairs in the image. Try uploading a clearer image with more obvious Welsh-English word pairs.
Cards have incorrect translations
The AI sometimes makes mistakes. Simply edit the cards after generation to correct any errors.
Processing is taking too long
AI processing usually takes 30-60 seconds. If it's taking longer, try refreshing the page or uploading a smaller/clearer image.
PDF chapter processing failed
This can happen if a chapter has unusual formatting or very little vocabulary content. Click the "Retry" button to try again, or skip that chapter and move on to the next one.
